 Welcome to Year Two

The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

Our theme for this half term is ‘Extreme Environments,’ which will be kick started by the adventurer James Ketchell coming into school to discuss his explorations including sailing across the Atlantic Ocean and climbing Mount Everest. Our learning will be led by Geography and Science as we learn to name oceans and continents and the human and physical features of our deserts and polar regions. We will discover how animals adapt to their environments and the habitats and microhabitats in which they live. We can’t wait!

DT Puppet Making Project in Class 5

DT Puppet Making Project in Class 5

First we tested what would stick the material together. We used treasury tags, sellotape and glue, but didn't think any of these would be the most effective way of making a hand puppet. The majority of the class thought sewing would be a better option.
