In the event of severe weather
Wherever possible we do try to keep school open. If the decision has to be made to either open late, finish early or close completely this will be clearly communicated to parents as early as possible via Radio Sheffield (104.1, 88.6, and 94.7fm) and Radio Hallam (102.9 -103.4fm). The radio stations also display information on their website which they update regularly. Please note, Radio Sheffield and Radio Hallam will only announce late opening after a period of closure. Therefore, if nothing is announced assume normal opening. All the schools in Stocksbridge try to do the same thing wherever possible.
Could we ask that parents listen to the radio rather than telephone school as this jams up the telephone line?
We will also have an emergency message on the home page of our website to send urgent messages and we will send e-mails using the ParentMail system.
We request that you please have arrangements in place for your children to be collected from school early should we have severe weather which requires us to close early. If school does close early please be reassured that normal procedures will be followed regarding children’s safety for being collected. All children will be kept safe until you arrive to collect them. But we do request that children are collected as soon as possible to allow staff to begin their journeys home.
