Welcome to Year Two
The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

National Fitness Day
Class 3 had a great time celebrating National Fitness Day. We played Excercise Bingo and taste tested some fruits and vegetables. The children enjoyed trying new foods in class.

On Monday we celebrated children who have tried very hard this half term to keep all our Golden Rules. We had a super assembly. Parents, grandparents and friends came to enjoy the event.

On Tuesday 21st October, we celebrated Harvest with our Festival. All the children brought out an offering for our display. We sang songs and said our thank yous for all the things we have to be grateful for. Our Alpine Lodge friends came to join in with our...

We all enjoyed The Hare and the Tortoise performed by Tutti Frutti. It was a terrific show. Some of our friends from Alpine Lodge came over. They enjoyed it too.
Planting, planting and even more planting!
Over the last few weeks in Gardening Club, the children have enjoyed planting a range of seeds and vegetables. They have also worked hard to fill the new planters around the school grounds with compost and a variety of plants.

On Friday, the Y2 children gave a wonderful performance in their Leavers' Assembly. It made the audience smile, laugh and shed a few tears.

As part of our learning about Easter we have a hat parade. There are some marvellous creations! This year it was a little windy so we had to hold on tight to our hats!
Visit to Alpine Lodge
Each week some children visit our friends in Alpine Lodge, our local care home. We play games with the residents, read stories and share drinks and biscuits together.
Panic of Pudding Lane
As part of our theme of Panic on Pudding Lane, we went to Eyam to learn all about the plague. The children were detectives, finding evidence that the plague really happened there.

Golden Star Assembly
Our second Golden Star Assembly of the last week of Autumn 1 was a lively affair. We all enjoyed it! Well done to the children who were chosen this half term for trying so hard to always keep our Golden Rules. Thank you grown-ups for coming along and joining in the fun.
Golden Rules
On Monday we celebrated children who have tried very hard this half term to keep all our Golden Rules. We had a super assembly. Parents, grandparents and friends came to enjoy the event.
Harvest Festival

The Hare and the Tortoise
We all enjoyed The Hare and the Tortoise performed by Tutti Frutti. It was a terrific show. Some of our friends from Alpine Lodge came over. They enjoyed it too.
Planting, planting and even more planting!
Over the last few weeks in Gardening Club, the children have enjoyed planting a range of seeds and vegetables. They have also worked hard to fill the new planters around the school grounds with compost and a variety of plants.
Leaver’s Assembly
On Friday, the Y2 children gave a wonderful performance in their Leavers' Assembly. It made the audience smile, laugh and shed a few tears.
Easter
As part of our learning about Easter we have a hat parade. There are some marvellous creations! This year it was a little windy so we had to hold on tight to our hats!
Visit to Alpine Lodge
Each week some children visit our friends in Alpine Lodge, our local care home. We play games with the residents, read stories and share drinks and biscuits together.
Panic of Pudding Lane
As part of our theme of Panic on Pudding Lane, we went to Eyam to learn all about the plague. The children were detectives, finding evidence that the plague really happened there.
Golden Stars
In May we celebrated more Golden Stars. These are children who try very hard to keep our Golden Rules.
