The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

As part of our theme of Panic on Pudding Lane, we went to Eyam to learn all about the plague. The children were detectives, finding evidence that the plague really happened there.

In June we welcomed Marie Tidball, our local MP, to school. She wanted to meet the children and answer their questions. She was also keen to see our Orchard Classroom in school. We all enjoyed her visit and learnt a lot from her.

Computer Programming in Class 3
The children in Class 3 have been learning about computer programming this week. We have been practicing our skills by using BeeBots and creating our own challenges with them.
Meeting James Ketchell
The explorer James Ketchell came into school to visit the children and tell them all about his adventures. The children were lucky enough to get a chance to sit in his tent and try his ration pack food.
Visit to Stocksbridge Leisure Centre
The children in Class 3 visited the leisure centre this term and had a blast. We took part in lots of sporting activities and even got the chance to try some indoor curling.
