The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

Over the last few weeks in Gardening Club, the children have enjoyed planting a range of seeds and vegetables. They have also worked hard to fill the new planters around the school grounds with compost and a variety of plants.

Our second Golden Star Assembly of the last week of Autumn 1 was a lively affair. We all enjoyed it! Well done to the children who were chosen this half term for trying so hard to always keep our Golden Rules. Thank you grown-ups for coming along and joining in the fun.

We all enjoyed The Hare and the Tortoise performed by Tutti Frutti. It was a terrific show. Some of our friends from Alpine Lodge came over. They enjoyed it too.
Planting, planting and even more planting!
Over the last few weeks in Gardening Club, the children have enjoyed planting a range of seeds and vegetables. They have also worked hard to fill the new planters around the school grounds with compost and a variety of plants.

Computer Programming in Class 3
The children in Class 3 have been learning about computer programming this week. We have been practicing our skills by using BeeBots and creating our own challenges with them.
Meeting James Ketchell
The explorer James Ketchell came into school to visit the children and tell them all about his adventures. The children were lucky enough to get a chance to sit in his tent and try his ration pack food.
Visit to Stocksbridge Leisure Centre
The children in Class 3 visited the leisure centre this term and had a blast. We took part in lots of sporting activities and even got the chance to try some indoor curling.
