‘Learning For Life’

Welcome to Class 3

Welcome to Year Two

The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

National Fitness Day

Class 3 had a great tiem celebrating National Fitness Day. We played Excercise Bingo and taste tested some fruits and vegetables. The children enjoyed trying new foods in class.

Diwali

The children have enjoyed looking at the festival of light, Diwali. Year Ones have read the story of Rama and Sita, decided which characters in the story are good and which are bad. They then made traditional clay thumb pot diva lamps in Welly Wednesday.
The Reception children made reflective disc diva lamps, using their fine motor skills to peel and stick gems and stickers.
We tried poppadoms and a coconut treat that is eaten during in Diwali and enjoyed watching a program showing the different way it is celebrated.

We then put all the information into practice in our own vet role play area.

Road Safety in Class 2

DT Puppet Making Project in Class 5

DT Puppet Making Project in Class 5

First we tested what would stick the material together. We used treasury tags, sellotape and glue, but didn't think any of these would be the most effective way of making a hand puppet. The majority of the class thought sewing would be a better option.
