The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

Golden Star Assembly
We held our first Golden Star assembly of the week this morning. We celebrated some children who had been chosen because they work hard to keep our Golden Rules all the time. Well done children and thank you to family and friends for coming along to celebrate with us.

Stocksbridge Christian Centre (SCC) invited out Y2 children to take part in an Easter Celebration. The children really enjoyed their afternoon at SCC. The activities and learning were pitched just right for our children.

Just before we broke up for the Easter holidays, we had a lovely session with our friends at Alpine Lodge. There was lots of giggling, smiling and laughter from the children and the residents.

Class 7 & 8 visit Ecclesall Woods
Today it was the turn of Class 7 & 8 to visit Ecclesall Woods. We had a great time making seed bombs and bird feeders. We loved making dens and clay creatures. We went pond dipping and bug hunting. We had a lovely day.

Forest School
The rainy weather didn’t stop Class 3 from making the most of their Forest School time! The children loved spending the whole day out in the meadow. They planted runner beans, which we are now keeping an eye on in class. The children loved climbing the trees and finding all of the mini-beasts!
Science
The children had great fun making leaf kebabs during their science lesson. They carefully collected a variety of colourful leaves and used sticks to thread them together, creating their own unique designs

Golden Star Assembly
We held our first Golden Star assembly of the week this morning. We celebrated some children who had been chosen because they work hard to keep our Golden Rules all the time. Well done children and thank you to family and friends for coming along to celebrate with us.

Easter Celebration
Stocksbridge Christian Centre (SCC) invited out Y2 children to take part in an Easter Celebration. The children really enjoyed their afternoon at SCC. The activities and learning were pitched just right for our children.
Our friends at Alpine Lodge
Just before we broke up for the Easter holidays, we had a lovely session with our friends at Alpine Lodge. There was lots of giggling, smiling and laughter from the children and the residents.

Class 7 & 8 visit Ecclesall Woods
Today it was the turn of Class 7 & 8 to visit Ecclesall Woods. We had a great time making seed bombs and bird feeders. We loved making dens and clay creatures. We went pond dipping and bug hunting. We had a lovely day.

Computer Programming in Class 3
The children in Class 3 have been learning about computer programming this week. We have been practicing our skills by using BeeBots and creating our own challenges with them.
Meeting James Ketchell
The explorer James Ketchell came into school to visit the children and tell them all about his adventures. The children were lucky enough to get a chance to sit in his tent and try his ration pack food.
Visit to Stocksbridge Leisure Centre
The children in Class 3 visited the leisure centre this term and had a blast. We took part in lots of sporting activities and even got the chance to try some indoor curling.
