‘Learning For Life’
Welcome to Class 3
Welcome to Year Two
The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

Nurturing Nature
Last week our Y2 children went to Ecclesall Woods as part of our work on Nurturing Nature. We pond dipped, hunted for bugs, made seed bombs and bird feeders. We built dens and made an animal out of clay - one that we had seen or learnt about during the day.
World Down Syndrome Day
On Friday we joined in with World Down Syndrome Day. We all wore bright socks and in doing so we were saying that people with Downs Syndrome have a voice and deserve to be listened too. We also had a 'design a pair of socks' competition to raise some money.
10 Day Active Challenge
We are taking part in 10 day active challenge. On Friday we finished off the first week with morning games. It was a lovely way to start the day.
Celebrating Our Second Mother’s Day Breakfast
Our hall was full this morning of mums and grandmas, nannas, and nannans. Thank you for coming along to our second Mothers' Day Breakfast of the week. It was lovely to have you all in school.
Mayor of South Yorkshire came to visit.
We have had a great afternoon. Oliver Coppard, the Mayor of South Yorkshire came to visit. Ed Clancy came too; he's an Olympic Cyclist. We blinged our scooters and had a fabulous time parading in the playground. The sun shone, the wind blew and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Mothers’ Day Breakfast
What a lovely way to start a Tuesday with mums, grandmas, aunties and great-grandmas. Thank you for coming to our first Mothers' Day Breakfast. We hope you enjoyed it. We liked having you in school.
World Book Day
Well that was a lovely WBD. Sometimes the simple ideas are the best. It was great to have so many parents and grandparents in school sharing books with their children and others. Thank you for making the time to come in.
Visit to the EIS
We had a wonderful day at the EIS. The Y1 children worked so hard at all the activities. It was an action packed day. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came along to help.
Golden Rules Shining Stars!
Each half term we celebrate some children who have worked really hard to keep our Golden Rules. Here are our latest shining stars!
Valentine Disco
We had lots of fun at the Valentine Disco. Thank you to our small, but perfectly formed, PTA for organising and running it.
