The emphasis in Year Two is to follow the Key Stage One Curriculum, which focuses on the development of the individual child and provides high quality learning opportunities for the children to learn through play. The children are able to explore, take risks, have fun, form friendships, think critically and form their own ideas.

Well, the Y2 nativity was a cracker this year. It had it all - singing in parts, a little group solo that was beautiful, humour, great acting, fantastic clear-speaking narrators, children who remembered their parts and enjoyed performing. Well done to everyone...
Nursery children perform their nativity
Last night nursery performed their nativity. It was wonderful; just what a nursery nativity should be. Children were shouting out to their grown-ups, so pleased to see them. They did so well and were very proud of their performance. It made the audience cry!
Noisy Nativities
Our children in Classes 6,7 & 8 performed two brilliant Noisy Nativities this week. Their singing was wonderful. They remembered their lines and everyone knew where they should be when. They made us all very proud.

Children in Classes 3 & 5 went to The Christian Centre in Stocksbridge to make Christingles. The children behaved brilliantly. They listened carefully to the play. We lit the Christingles, turned out the lights and sang and it was magical.

On Wednesday our Y2 children learnt Scooter Skills with Paula from Modeshift Stars. They learnt how to check their scooter to make sure it was safe. They learnt how to keep themselves safe by playing games.

On Wednesday we had to walk, wheel or scoot to school as part of the 10-day Active Challenge.
