This week, we have read ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. We have made our own Gruffalo crumble. We put biscuits, chocolate, butter, golden syrup and sweets in our Gruffalo crumble. The children helped to break the biscuits, pour the melted chocolate in and mix it in with the biscuits. Then they put the sweets on the top of the crumble.  The orange sweets were to represent the Gruffalo’s eyes. The purple sweets were to represent the Gruffalo’s prickles on his back. The green sweets were to represent the poisonous wart at the end of the Gruffalo’s nose. The raisins were to represent the Gruffalo’s tongue. The children enjoyed trying their Gruffalo crumble. Some said it was “yummy”, “crunchy” and “tasty”.
