  • A red or blue checked school summer dress (weather permitting),
  • Sensible shoes that children can fasten themselves (e.g. Velcro, buckles or slip on shoes).
  • Appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof coats in winter and sun hats in summer!)

On P.E. days, children should come to school in:

  • A plain red or blue school sweatshirt or cardigan,
  • Plain navy or black jogging bottoms or shorts,
  • A plain white t-shirt,
  • Sensible shoes that children can fasten themselves (e.g. Velcro, buckles or slip on shoes).
  • Appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather conditions (e.g. coats, hats, scarves, gloves/mittens).

School logo – We do prefer children to wear clothing with our school logo, as it gives a sense of community and belonging. However, in an effort to ensure that our uniform is still affordable plain items can also be worn as long as they are in keeping with the school’s dress code described above. These are easily available via most main stream supermarkets and high street stores.

Branding – All items (such sweatshirts, cardigans, trousers, skirt, leggings and P.E. kit etc) must be free from any commercial branding or logos.

Jewellery – All jewellery must be removed for P.E. lessons. This is in accordance with the Local Authority guidance and the school’s P.E. safety policy. Children wearing jewellery will not be permitted to take part in P.E. classes or after school sporting activities. Ideally no jewellery should be worn in school. The school does not accept any liability for the property of pupils that is brought to school and insurance cover is not provided against loss, damage or theft.

Wellington boots – School also asks parents / carers to provide a pair of wellington boots that can be kept a school for wet weather play days.

New uniform sales –We no longer sell new uniform items in school.  Parents / carers can order school uniform items directly from School Trends

Iron on school logo badges – are available to buy from the school office. These can be added to plain non-branded items.

Pre-Loved clothing – Parents / carers often donate uniform items that are still in good condition but are no longer of use to their children Our Friends of Stocksbridge Nursery Infants (FOSNI) hold regular pre-loved sales. All proceeds are donated to the School Fund and used to benefit all of our children. We are very grateful to receive clean pre-loved uniform items that are still in good condition for this purpose.

Naming clothing and other belongings – Naming items helps us to return any lost items to your child. Parents / carers should ensure that all items of clothing and belongings brought to school are clearly marked with their child’s name and class. The name should be in a prominent place and checked regularly to make sure that it is still clearly visible. Iron on labels are a quick and easy way to do this and STICKINS labels offer a donation to school funds from labels purchased from them. Details of this are available from the school office.

Lost property – Items that are not clearly named find their way to our lost property. We do try to return as much as possible to its rightful owner. This is much easier when items are clearly named. Children and parents / carers can ask to check for items in the lost property. Items that remain unclaimed are donated to our ‘Pre-Loved’ uniform collection.

Affordability – Please do talk to us if you are having difficulty providing appropriate uniform for your child, as we may be able to offer you some help.
